On the screenshots below hover over the hot-spots to disclose tool-tips.

Start by dragging a selection of images (from Finder, iPhoto, Aperture,…) to the canvas and see how collage automatically creates a layout for you as a starting point.
Simply drag one image into another to exchange them.
Move a frame’s border to change layout.
Hold spacebar and use your mouse to pan (move an image within its frame).
Hold the command key and use your mouse to zoom any image.

You can also select one of the many templates to start your collage.
Use the ‘Max Crop’/’Max Crop All’ command to reset zoom.
If necessary, you can rotate and mirror any image.
Set frame color and size.
Not happy with the composition? Randomize the image allocation or create a new layout.
Use ‘Themes’ to turn your collage’s color into sepia tone, or black and white, give them a unique vintage instant camera look or let them appear as if everything was made entirely out of silver or neon lights.

Save your composition as .collage file for later use. The file contains all links to the used images as well as the ‘recipe’ for your collage.
If you make an ‘archive’, the .collage file contains the actual images instead of just the links.
When you are happy with the composition, you can ‘Preview’ it, export to different file formats, share it or directly add it to your iPhoto library.

Select a file format and the output size.
